Sophie Turner made a stylish return to the spotlight this week, attending a special screening of her highly anticipated new series Steal. The event, held at the BAFTA headquarters in London on Monday, January 12, saw the Game of Thrones alum leaning into a modern, edgy aesthetic.

The 29-year-old actress arrived on the red carpet wearing a sleek black leather ensemble that featured a sharp, military-inspired silhouette. The outfit included a high collar, long sleeves adorned with gold buttons, and a matching short skirt that completed the bold look.

She polished off the appearance by pulling her hair back into a sleek, side-parted ponytail, which allowed her accessories to stand out. She chose Ananya diamond pave and white gold carved ear cuffs, adding a touch of high-fashion luxury to the utilitarian vibe of the leather.

Turner was joined by her co-stars Archie Madekwe and Jacob Fortune-Lloyd, posing for several photos with the duo before heading inside for the screening. The group appeared to be in high spirits as they prepared to introduce the thriller to a London audience just over a week before its global release.

During the event, Turner reflected on the experience of filming the crime drama in her home city, admitting that the process felt somewhat “invasive.” She explained that because many of the locations were so recognizable to her, it felt like she was “robbing places that feel like home.”

Steal is described as a high-octane thriller that follows an ordinary office worker named Zara who becomes the central figure in the heist of the century. After an armed gang invades her workplace, Zara and her best friend Luke are forced to help execute a plan to steal billions in pension funds.

The series is directed by Sam Miller and Hettie Macdonald, with a script written by S.A. Nikias. All six episodes of the high-stakes drama are scheduled to begin streaming on Prime Video on January 21.

Aside from her work on Steal, Turner has been keeping an incredibly busy schedule as she approaches her 30th birthday this February. She recently completed filming on the Gothic horror movie The Dreadful, which reunites her with her former Game of Thrones co-star Kit Harington.

In that project, she and Harington play a pair of lovers in the 15th century, a significant shift from their roles as the Stark siblings. She has also been seen in the psychological thriller Trust, which recently began trending on Paramount+ after its release earlier this year.

The biggest project on her horizon, however, is the live-action Tomb Raider series for Prime Video, created by Phoebe Waller-Bridge. Turner has reportedly been in intense physical training for nearly a year to take on the iconic role of Lara Croft, with production officially beginning this month.

She has spoken openly about the excitement of stepping into such a legendary franchise, noting that her relationship with Amazon has been a highlight of her recent career. Between her television work and film roles, Turner is successfully transitioning into a new era of her professional life.

As she navigates these major career milestones, she has also been candid about her personal growth, sharing in recent interviews that she has prioritized therapy and self-work. This newfound confidence is evident in her bold fashion choices and her willingness to tackle diverse, complex characters.

With the premiere of Steal just days away, fans are eager to see if this heist thriller will become the next big streaming hit. The series promises a fresh take on the genre by focusing on the moral fallout and the “butterfly effect” a massive crime has on ordinary people.
