Few actors are as closely tied to a single hair color as Sophie Turner. For years, Sansa Stark’s fiery locks defined the actress in the public imagination, and fans have paid close attention to every shift in her look since. Sophie Turner’s new hair color is the latest chapter in that story.

Turner is a natural blonde, but the red she wore on ‘Game of Thrones’ became her signature. She has dyed her hair for most of her life, starting at 13 when she was cast as Sansa. That history is why even small changes to her look tend to set off fan conversations.

On Tuesday, Turner attended Louis Vuitton’s Spring/Summer 2027 show in Paris during Paris Fashion Week, and the change was impossible to miss. She arrived with long brown hair, styled in polished waves with a side part, leaving behind the auburn shade many fans still associate with her. Photos shared by fan accounts that night quickly started circulating on X.

The outfit gave the new color plenty of competition. Turner wore an oversized caramel leather jacket with voluminous sleeves, layered with a cream scarf-style collar with fringed ends over a white top. Electric blue trousers completed the look, with the cobalt shade repeating in the side panels of the jacket.

The result was a three-tone color-block moment, with caramel confined to the sleeves, white running through the center and blue taking over the lower half. A compact dark burgundy-brown handbag with chain hardware added one more deep accent. The warm brunette waves sat neatly alongside all that color, keeping the jacket’s broad sections fully visible.

Some observers could barely believe it was her. One fashion blogger said Turner looked almost unrecognizable with the dark hair, though she also noted that the electric blue was a flattering shade on the actress.

The shade is not random. Turner is currently going brunette for her upcoming role as Lara Croft in a new ‘Tomb Raider’ series, and she arrived at an earlier appearance this year as a Lara Croft-style brunette. That event was the Newport Beach Festival, where she accepted the Artist of Distinction Award in a custom Louis Vuitton leather skirt set during a break from filming.

Turner has also spoken openly about her relationship with hair color. In an August interview with The Sydney Morning Herald, she said she no longer identifies with any particular shade after so many years of dyeing it. She added that blonde gets the most positive reaction from the public, while red draws fewer reactions but more extreme ones when it does.

Brunette, she said, offers a kind of camouflage, and she has been enjoying being recognized less. That makes this week’s front-row appearance a fun contrast, since the hair may be low-key but the outfit certainly was not.

Turner is a Louis Vuitton ambassador and a familiar face at the label’s shows. She first appeared at one in 2017, wearing white thigh-high boots with a leather mini, and has returned regularly since. Her looks there have charted a clear evolution, from edgy leather in her early appearances to sculptural black pieces and now bold color.

This season’s front row was stacked, with Emma Stone, Saoirse Ronan, Ana de Armas, Chloë Grace Moretz, Rhea Seehorn and Wunmi Mosaku among the guests. Even in that crowd, Turner’s mix of caramel, white and cobalt stood out. It was a reminder of how far her fashion identity has moved from the demure Sansa of her early red-carpet days.

Paris Fashion Week is also winding down, with this show among the last of the week. For Turner, the timing could not be better, because it gives her new brunette era a high-profile debut on one of fashion’s biggest stages.
