Sources Confirm Millie Bobby Brown Did File Bullying Complaint Against David Harbour Despite Positive Red Carpet Exchanges
At the recent Stranger Things Season 5 premiere, David Harbour and Millie Bobby Brown appeared cheerful and close on the red carpet, hugging each other and taking selfies with fans.
Brown spoke to Entertainment Tonight about her bond with Harbour, saying, “I obviously had a really special bond with David because we have a father-daughter relationship, and we do every scene together… It’s been so special to have him along the journey for me.”
Harbour, who only spoke to ET during the event, returned the praise, saying, “I adore her, and I’ve been proud to watch all of them grow up and become such great artists… this particular project is so special, and we’ve gotten to know each other so deeply.”
Their friendly behavior on the carpet came shortly after reports emerged that Brown had filed a bullying and harassment complaint against Harbour before Season 5 began production. The report first appeared in the U.K.’s Daily Mail on November 1. Neither Harbour nor Brown publicly addressed the allegations, and Harbour limited his press interactions during the premiere.
Insiders told Variety that an investigation into Brown’s complaint did take place and was resolved. Despite the media attention, Harbour was not expected to join press junkets for the show due to a busy schedule, which includes filming HBO’s DTF St. Louis and Marvel’s Avengers: Doomsday, set for release in December 2026.
PR experts suggested that the premiere’s red carpet presentation, as well as the cast appearing together on stage, was a deliberate effort to show unity and support for the show as a whole.
Netflix shared a video of Harbour and Brown interacting with fans, which Brown’s fashion brand, Florence by Mills, reacted to with a heart emoji. Many fans responded positively, suggesting the reported tension may have been overblown.
The Daily Mail report was reportedly sourced to a friend of Harbour’s ex-wife, singer Lily Allen, whose recent album details their split and Harbour’s alleged infidelity.
