Fresh footage from ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ has surfaced online, and the reaction has been nothing short of electric. The clip gives viewers a new look at Peter Parker in full swing, including a shot of him rescuing a child and a closer glimpse at what appears to be a fully formed web tornado, a move that has instantly become the most talked-about moment in the film’s entire marketing campaign.

The web tornado sequence first appeared in the second official trailer, released on June 17, and shows Spider-Man deploying his organic webbing to create a spinning vortex during a battle against The Hand. By the trailer’s closing moments, Peter’s eyes black out, his webbing becomes significantly more aggressive, and the tornado is unleashed in the middle of the prison fight sequence.

Fan response to the moment was immediate and overwhelming. One viewer called it “the coolest thing ever,” while another declared the film to be a potential “10/10 Spider-Man movie” on the strength of the shot alone. Social media lit up with clips, reaction posts, and enthusiasm not seen for the franchise in years.

The web tornado appears to be something genuinely new for Peter Parker, with no clear precedent in the broader comic book canon for this exact power construct. It reads instead as a product of the biological mutation storyline driving the film’s central conflict.

That mutation arc is at the heart of the story. Peter is shown in the trailer struggling with an unexpected physical transformation tied to a “rebirth” phase of the spider life cycle. His former friends MJ and Ned, who no longer remember him following the spell cast at the end of ‘No Way Home,’ have reconnected without any knowledge of their shared past, while Peter navigates his isolation and increasingly unstable powers alone.

The trailer also confirms the return of Mark Ruffalo as Dr. Bruce Banner, with Peter seeking him out for scientific help. Banner shows him a device that suppresses mutating DNA, then promptly transforms into the Hulk directly in front of him. The scene has become another fan favorite from the promotional material.

Jon Bernthal returns as Frank Castle, Sadie Ink joins in a mysterious role that has fueled considerable Jean Grey speculation online, and Michael Mando’s Scorpion finally gets his long-awaited moment after first being teased nearly a decade ago. The villain roster also includes The Hand and the possibility of Tombstone lurking somewhere in the mix.

Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton from a script by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers, ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ is set to arrive in theaters on July 31. If the reaction to a single shot of a web tornado is anything to go by, the wait is going to feel very long.
