‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ New Poster Gives a Better Look at Daredevil Villains and Sadie Sink

The ‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ marketing campaign has been steadily ramping up as its July 31 release date closes in, and the film’s international rollout has been just as busy as its domestic one. With less than two weeks to go before the movie hits theaters worldwide, Sony and Marvel have been rolling out fresh artwork practically every day.

The latest addition to that campaign comes in the form of a new international poster, and it packs in more visual storytelling than most of the marketing seen so far. Between returning allies, mysterious new faces, and a lineup of villains still shrouded in secrecy, the poster gives fans plenty to dissect ahead of release.

The artwork prominently features Tom Holland’s Spider-Man front and center, flanked by Mark Ruffalo’s Hulk and Jon Bernthal’s Punisher, alongside a hooded figure believed to be Sadie Sink’s still unrevealed character. A group of red-clad assassins resembling The Hand rounds out the bottom of the poster, hinting at yet another faction Peter Parker will have to contend with.

Hulk’s inclusion has become one of the film’s more intriguing storylines heading into release. Reports indicate his role is being depicted as a controlled professor who eventually goes rogue, though Marvel has stopped short of officially confirming whether Banner ends up as friend or foe by the time the credits roll.

Sadie Sink’s character remains the biggest mystery of the entire promotional campaign. Speculation has persisted for months that she could be playing Jean Grey, with reports noting that the prevailing theory points toward her introduction as the X-Men character, though neither Marvel nor Sony has confirmed any details about who she plays.

That mystery has only deepened as more promotional material has surfaced. Recent marketing has hinted that Sink’s character may be the one unleashing Bruce Banner’s Savage Hulk, and could even be steering his rampage, adding an unexpected layer to her role in the story.

The Punisher’s presence alongside Hulk continues to be one of the more unusual pairings in recent Marvel history. Bernthal’s brutal vigilante teaming up, or possibly clashing, with Ruffalo’s rage fueled scientist has generated plenty of fan excitement since the two were first confirmed for the film, given how tonally different their corners of the MCU have traditionally been.

Beyond the trio at the poster’s center, Michael Mando’s Scorpion looms as another confirmed threat facing Spider-Man in the film. His character’s history as a host for the Venom symbiote has fueled speculation that the alien substance, last seen fragmenting off in Peter’s universe at the end of ‘No Way Home,’ could resurface in some form.

Marvel has continued to keep the film’s actual main villain under wraps despite revealing so many antagonists across trailers and posters. Additional threats like Boomerang and Tombstone have been teased in past marketing but remain absent from this particular piece of artwork, suggesting there is still plenty being held back ahead of release.

The film picks up four years after the memory-altering events of ‘No Way Home,’ following Peter Parker as he fights crime in a New York that no longer remembers who he is. As the pressures of full-time superheroism intensify, his own physical evolution becomes just as dangerous a threat as anything he faces in the streets.
