‘Spider-Man: Brand New Day’ Swings Into Action With New Cast Addition
Tramell Tillman is swinging into the Marvel universe. The Emmy-nominated actor has joined the cast of Sony and Marvel’s upcoming Spider-Man film, “Spider-Man: Brand New Day,” Variety reports.
Details about his role are being kept secret, but he’ll be joining Tom Holland as Spider-Man, Zendaya as M.J., Jacob Batalon as Ned Leeds, Jon Bernthal as the Punisher, Mark Ruffalo as Hulk, and other new faces including Sadie Sink and Liza Colón-Zayas in mysterious roles.
“Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is the next big installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, produced by Columbia Pictures and Marvel Studios and distributed by Sony Pictures Releasing. The movie is set to be the 38th film in the MCU and the fourth Spider-Man film starring Tom Holland, following “Spider-Man: No Way Home” in 2021. The film is directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, with a screenplay by Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers.
Filming officially began on August 3, 2025, in Glasgow, Scotland, under the working title Blue Oasis. Brett Pawlak, who has worked on several of Cretton’s films, is returning as cinematographer.
The production was slightly delayed earlier in the year to accommodate Holland’s schedule, including his work on “The Odyssey.” Scenes are being shot in Glasgow to represent New York City, with locations like Merchant City, George Square, and Trongate being transformed for the movie. Principal photography also included an action scene and a short shoot at Brookwood Cemetery in Surrey, London.
Holland shared his excitement about filming on location. “It feels great to be back out in the city, like we did for Homecoming. Fans get to see the cast and crew in action, and that energy is amazing,” he said.
Set photos from Glasgow have shown armored vehicles with red demon logos, which reports suggested could hint at the Inner Demons gang and the villain Mister Negative from the comics. Additionally, a rhinoceros-shaped reference bust spotted on set led Paul Trainer from Glasgow World to speculate that Rhino might appear in the movie.
After location shooting, production will continue on soundstages at Pinewood Studios in Buckinghamshire, England. “Spider-Man: Brand New Day” is scheduled to swing into U.S. theaters on July 31, 2026, as part of Phase Six of the MCU. Fans can expect more surprises and familiar faces as the film builds on the Spider-Man story in the Marvel universe.
