Fans at Star Wars Celebration Japan 2025 got some big news about the future of Star Wars animation. Lucasfilm confirmed that Star Wars: Visions is coming back for a third volume on Disney+ this October.

Along with that, the studio also announced Star Wars: Visions Presents – The Ninth Jedi, a new limited series that will continue the story of Lah Kara.

The third season of the anthology will debut on October 29. During the event, fans were given a full rundown of all nine episodes, each made by a different anime studio.

An image gallery showed off some early designs, and later at Anime NYC, new key art for the series was revealed. Now the official trailer has been released online for everyone to see.

This new volume brings together some of the biggest names in Japanese animation. David Production is behind a trippy story called BLACK, directed by Shinya Ohira, about an Imperial trooper battling his own mind. Kamikaze Douga teams up with ANIMA for The Duel: Payback, where Ronin faces off against a vengeful Jedi Grand Master.

Kinema Citrus is contributing two episodes: The Lost Ones, where a hidden figure helps refugees before being forced to face her past, and Yuko’s Treasure, a story about two kids on a mission to save a droid and uncover a hidden fortune.

Other episodes include Polygon Pictures’ The Bird of Paradise, which follows a blinded padawan struggling with the pull of the Dark Side, and Production I.G’s The Ninth Jedi: Child of Hope, a continuation of Kara’s journey as she finds a mysterious ship while on the run.

Project Studio Q is delivering The Song of Four Wings, where a princess-turned-rebel protects a child from the Empire. Studio TRIGGER is making The Smuggler, about a desperate rogue trying to transport a prince to safety. WIT Studio rounds it out with The Bounty Hunter, which follows a mercenary who takes on a risky job with dangerous consequences.

During the livestream presentation, fans also got a preview reel featuring both the Japanese and English voice casts.

The Japanese lineup includes Ami Maeshima, Yasuko Hatori, Takako Honda, Yume Miyamoto, Makoto Koichi, and Chinatsu Akasaki. For the English dub, viewers will hear George Takei, Sonoya Mizuno, Nick Kishiyama, Lincoln Bonilla, Jimmie Yamaguchi, Mike Bodie, and Stephanie Hsu.

Star Wars: Visions Volume 3 is produced by Lucasfilm for Disney+. The executive producers are James Waugh, Josh Rimes, Jacqui Lopez, and Justin Leach, with Flannery Huntley and Kanako Shirasaki on board as producers.

With nine studios, nine unique visions, and fresh takes on the galaxy far, far away, fans have a lot to look forward to when the series drops this fall.
