Stranger Things is gearing up for its grand finale. Netflix has announced that the fifth and final season of the hit series will premiere on November 26.

Showrunners Matt and Ross Duffer promise it will be the biggest season yet, packed with more action, intense visual effects, and higher stakes than ever before.

A featurette released on September 24 gives fans a sneak peek at the upcoming season. It includes glimpses of the final showdown between the Hawkins kids and Vecna, played by Jamie Campbell Bower.

While much of the footage had already appeared in the July teaser, new shots show Dustin (Gaten Matarazzo) holding a walkie-talkie outside a house overrun by Upside Down vines, and Murray (Brett Gelman) driving a truck with Robin (Maya Hawke) riding along.

The actors highlighted the show’s intensity. Finn Wolfhard said, “It’s the highest stakes the show has ever been,” and Millie Bobby Brown added, “Everybody is really put into the thick of it. No one is sitting back on a walkie-talkie.”

Even with all the action, the featurette also reflects on lighter moments from the series. Fans get glimpses of the kids dressed as Ghostbusters and playing Dungeons & Dragons, showing the series’ nostalgic charm. It also pays tribute to characters who have died along the way, like Eddie Munson (Joseph Quinn) and Billy Hargrove (Dacre Montgomery).

Winona Ryder, who has been with the series since the beginning, reflected on the cast’s growth over the years. “I got to watch these kids grow, which is the biggest gift that this show has given me,” she said. With the original cast now grown up, many viewers who have followed the show from the start will get a chance to say goodbye alongside them.

Season 5 will release in stages. The first four episodes drop on November 26 at 5 p.m. PT, three more episodes arrive on Christmas, and the final episode will be available on New Year’s Eve.

This final season looks like it will deliver everything fans have been waiting for—high stakes, thrilling action, and emotional goodbyes. Stranger Things has been a part of so many viewers’ lives for almost a decade, and this ending promises to be memorable. How do you think the Hawkins gang will survive this final chapter?
