Sydney Sweeney is facing possible legal trouble after a bold stunt to promote her new lingerie brand, Syrn. The Euphoria star recently climbed the Hollywood sign at night and hung a string of bras across the letters, according to TMZ. The stunt could be risky because she did not have the right permissions for that part of the landmark.

Sweeney did get a permit from FilmLA to film near the sign, but it did not allow her to climb or touch it without additional approval from the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce. CEO Steve Nissen said the stunt was not authorized by the Hollywood Chamber of Commerce nor did we have prior knowledge of it.

He added that the Chamber owns the rights to the Hollywood sign and anyone who wants to use it for commercial purposes must obtain a license or permission.

Video from the shoot shows Sweeney laughing as she surveyed the bras on the sign. The late-night stunt was produced by her company, Persuasion Pictures. Syrn is backed by the venture firm Coatue, whose investors include Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez. The connection also explains why Sweeney attended their lavish wedding in Venice last year.

While the LAPD has not opened an official investigation, Sweeney could face trespassing or vandalism charges for her stunt. The timing comes as she celebrates the success of her thriller The Housemaid, which has grossed over $250 million worldwide. In the film, she plays Millie Calloway, a housekeeper who uncovers dark family secrets, and a sequel has already been confirmed.

Even with potential legal risks, Sweeney appears determined to take bold moves in both her acting and business ventures. Whether her Hollywood sign stunt will help her brand or lead to court trouble is the talk of Hollywood.

Sydney Sweeney’s stunt was daring and attention-grabbing, but it clearly blurred legal lines. It shows how marketing stunts can generate buzz, but also serious consequences. Do you think this was a clever move or too risky? Share your opinion in the comments.
