American Hostage (TV Series)

‘American Hostage’ is an MGM+ limited series starring Jon Hamm as Indianapolis radio newsman Fred Heckman and Giovanni Ribisi as Tony Kiritsis, dramatizing the real February 1977 hostage crisis in which Kiritsis took mortgage broker Dick Hall captive with a shotgun wired to his neck. The eight-episode series premiered its first two episodes on September 20, 2026, with the remaining episodes rolling out weekly through early November. Co-starring Mireille Enos, William Jackson Harper, and Kristoffer Polaha, the show blends the tense 63-hour standoff with a secondary storyline about the toll the crisis takes on the Heckman and Hall families.
