Aquamarine (Franchise)

Aquamarine is a 2006 American teen fantasy romantic comedy directed by Elizabeth Allen, based loosely on Alice Hoffman’s 2001 novel of the same name. The film stars Emma Roberts, JoJo in her film debut, and Sara Paxton as the titular mermaid, and has since developed a cult following, particularly among Gen Z audiences. In June 2026, Disney ordered a pilot for a sequel series, with Roberts set to reprise her role as a guest star and executive producer.
