Bass X Machina (TV Series)

‘Bass X Machina’ is a six-episode Netflix animated steampunk Western from creator LeSean Thomas and Studio Mir, reimagining the real-life lawman Bass Reeves as a cybernetic bounty hunter with a mechanical arm, voiced by Brian Tyree Henry. Set in an alternate post-Civil War America, it follows Bass as he takes a government job to find a missing scientist, teaming up with the scientist’s niece Dana and uncovering a plot involving General Rivenbark and a giant weapon called the Colossus. Critics have praised its action, voice cast and themes of racism and revenge, though some wanted more episodes to flesh out characters and give the ending more closure.
