Better Than the Movies by Lynn Painter follows Liz Buxbaum, a high school senior and romantic comedy fan who tries to recreate a perfect love story inspired by her favorite films. When her childhood crush Michael returns, Liz teams up with her annoying but charming neighbor Wes Bennett to help win his attention and get a prom invitation.
