Diary of a Wimpy Kid (Franchise)

The ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ franchise began with Jeff Kinney’s book series and first reached the screen with a live-action film in 2010, followed by ‘Rodrick Rules’ in 2011, ‘Dog Days’ in 2012 and ‘The Long Haul’ in 2017. Disney then relaunched it as animation on Disney+ with ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid’ in 2021, ‘Rodrick Rules’ in 2022, ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: Cabin Fever’ in 2023 and ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid: The Last Straw’ in 2025, with Kinney writing and producing. ‘Diary of a Wimpy Kid Christmas: The Getaway’ becomes the 5th animated film and adapts the 12th book in the series.
