Magic the Gathering (Franchise)

‘Magic: The Gathering’ is a trading card game created by Richard Garfield in 1993, in which players act as powerful wizards called planeswalkers. It became Hasbro’s first $1 billion brand in 2022, but earlier movie attempts, including a 2008 Universal deal and a 2014 Fox project, never made it to the screen. Legendary and Hasbro Entertainment announced a live-action film and TV universe in February 2025, with Matt Johnson directing and Maya Hawke now set to star.
