Mass Effect (Franchise)

‘Mass Effect’ is a sci-fi action role-playing franchise from BioWare that launched in 2007 and follows Commander Shepard, a human soldier trying to save the galaxy from a machine race called the Reapers, with ‘Mass Effect: Andromeda’ following in 2017. A new game was teased in 2020, but EA has now closed BioWare and cancelled the project, which was still in early development, though a trailer for it reportedly titled ‘Mass Effect: Universe’ has leaked. The franchise’s only active project is now Amazon’s Prime Video series, which is reportedly still in development and will tell a new story set after the original trilogy rather than retell Shepard’s journey.
