‘Rules of Prey’ is a reported Prime Video adaptation of John Sandford’s long-running crime novel franchise, which began with the 1989 book of the same name and follows detective Lucas Davenport as he investigates politically sensitive, often gruesome cases for what eventually becomes the Minnesota Bureau of Criminal Apprehension. Jensen Ackles was spotted filming a mysterious “serial killer drama” in Toronto, leading fans to speculate he’s been cast as Davenport, though neither he nor Prime Video has officially confirmed the project. If accurate, it would mark Ackles’ return to a crime-thriller lead role following the cancellation of his previous Prime Video series, ‘Countdown,’ after just one season.
