Shōgun ( TV series)

Shōgun is an American historical drama created by Rachel Kondo and Justin Marks, based on James Clavell’s 1975 novel, featuring a predominantly Japanese cast and mostly Japanese-language dialogue. The first season premiered in February 2024 on FX and Hulu and received widespread acclaim for its writing, directing, performances, visuals, and historical storytelling, leading to development of second and third seasons. In 2024, *Shōgun* made history as the first Japanese-language series to win Outstanding Drama Series at the Emmys, taking home 18 awards and later earning four Golden Globes and a Peabody Award.
