The Challenger (TV Series)

‘The Challenger’ is a Prime Video limited series about the 1986 Space Shuttle Challenger disaster, marking Kristen Stewart’s TV starring debut as astronaut and physicist Sally Ride, the first American woman in space. Based on Meredith E. Bagby’s book “The New Guys,” the show follows NASA’s groundbreaking 1978 astronaut class alongside the investigation into the tragedy, with a sprawling cast that includes Will Arnett, Danny Huston, William Fichtner, and Sofia Black D’Elia playing key real-life figures from the astronauts to the engineers and officials involved. Created by Maggie Cohn and directed by James Hawes (‘Slow Horses’), the series is a collaboration between Amblin Television, Big Swing Productions, and Stewart’s own Nevermind Pictures.
