Tomb Raider (franchise)
Tomb Raider is a long-running media franchise centered on British archaeologist Lara Croft, who explores dangerous tombs and ruins while solving puzzles, avoiding traps, and battling enemies. Originally created as a video game series by Core Design in 1996, the franchise expanded into films, comics, novels, soundtracks, and other media, with Crystal Dynamics becoming its primary game developer after *The Angel of Darkness*. By 2024, the games had sold more than 100 million copies worldwide, making Lara Croft one of the most recognizable and influential characters in video game history.
