Tatiana Maslany Addresses Possible Return as She-Hulk in the MCU

Tatiana Maslany has shared her thoughts on whether She-Hulk could return in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and she made it clear that any future appearance would need the right creative direction to preserve what makes the character unique.

Speaking about Jennifer Walters, Maslany emphasized that the character’s style depends heavily on tone and narration. She noted that She-Hulk works because she directly speaks to the audience and carries a very specific comedic voice that sets her apart from other Marvel heroes.

She explained that if the character were ever brought into a larger ensemble or crossover story, it would need strong guidance from the original creative team. In her view, keeping the same tone would likely require involvement from creator Jessica Gao, who developed the character’s voice in the original series.

Maslany said She-Hulk’s appeal comes from how self-contained the character is. The show’s structure, humor, and fourth-wall breaking style are built around her being the main focus, which could be difficult to carry into a different type of Marvel project.

She also mentioned that while a crossover could be interesting, it would present a real creative challenge. The character’s storytelling style is very different from the standard structure of most superhero films and series.

The original series, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, followed Jennifer Walters as a lawyer who also transforms into a Hulk. The show mixed legal comedy with superhero action and leaned heavily into breaking the fourth wall, especially in its later episodes.

That approach became one of the defining features of the series, but it also made the character harder to place within traditional Marvel storytelling. The show directly addressed its own format and even reacted to audience expectations in its finale.

When asked about the possibility of returning, Maslany responded with humor, suggesting that audiences might not want to see her character return too often. She did not confirm any plans for a second season or future MCU appearance.

“I don’t know,” she said. “I think people would be so mad at me being on their screens again.”

At the moment, Marvel has not announced a continuation of the series or confirmed any new projects featuring She-Hulk. Maslany has also said in earlier interviews that she is unsure what the future holds for the character.
