Teyana Taylor Commands Attention on the TIME Women of the Year Red Carpet
Teyana Taylor was one of the standout stars at the TIME 2026 Women of the Year Gala, held Tuesday at The West Hollywood EDITION hotel in Los Angeles. The event honored 16 remarkable women from entertainment, sports, activism, and business, celebrating their achievements over the past year.
Taylor, 35, looked unforgettable in a dramatic burgundy and black gown with a sparkling fringe skirt and a glittering embellished waist. She paired the look with chunky statement earrings and her signature pixie haircut, capturing the attention of photographers and guests alike.
The Oscar-nominee, who received her first-ever Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress for her role as Perfidia Beverly Hills, spoke to Time about her outlook on awards season. “Even if I go home empty-handed, I have won,” she said, showing confidence and gratitude for the recognition.

Taylor also shared her close friendship with fellow awards-season nominee Jacob Elordi. “We’re young, we’re blessed, we’re being celebrated – this is the time to be happy and to have fun with it, especially in a space that some people take so serious, and some people are cold, some people are robotic,” she told Time. “I know to the world, it looks spicy, but we’re literally just in our own little world… Half the time we’re talking about having the same haircut, going mullet for mullet.”
Despite her busy schedule, Taylor said she embraces the challenges of her career. “I love when it’s hard – that means it’s of purpose. I want everything that is supposed to be mine. And I’m going to work my a* off to make sure that I see that,”* she added.
Other celebrities at the gala included Lucy Liu and Camila Alves. Liu, 57, wore a plunging black gown with sparkling embellishments and was honored for her acting career and advocacy for Asian representation in Hollywood. Alves, 43, impressed in a long ivory coat dress and attended with her daughter Vida, 16, who matched her in a black blazer dress.
For Teyana Taylor, the evening was not just about fashion or recognition—it was a celebration of her hard work, talent, and growing influence in Hollywood.
