The outrageous horror series “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey” is charging ahead with its third movie, and it’s about to get even bloodier. Variety reports that “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3” will be written by Richard Stanley, best known for “Color Out of Space” and “The Island of Dr. Moreau.” Production is planned to start in early 2026, with ITN Studios and Premiere Entertainment managing sales.

This time, Scott Chambers, who produced the first two films, will be directing. Rhys Frake-Waterfield, the previous director, is still involved but will focus on producing instead.

Stanley said he’s thrilled to be part of the project. “I am wildly excited to be joining Scott Chambers and his creative team as screenwriter on the mind-wrenching third installment of a beloved, blood-soaked saga that has revitalized independent genre film production in the U.K. The Hundred Acre Wood will never be the same again!”

Chambers is just as eager to work with Stanley, he said: “I’ve always been a huge fan of ‘Color Out of Space’ and all of Richard’s work. Now, with the third installment underway, I can’t wait to see his wild new vision come to life. Work has already begun — and it promises to take everything to an entirely new level.”

When the film was first teased, Chambers and Frake-Waterfield told Variety that the new chapter will have a bigger budget than the earlier movies. They also confirmed that it will bring in more classic Winnie-the-Pooh characters, including Rabbit, the Heffalumps, and the Woozles, all with the franchise’s signature violent twist.

The second film, “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2,” made $533,144 in the United States and Canada, plus over $7 million in other countries, for a total of $7.6 million worldwide. It did slightly better with critics compared to the first movie.

Rotten Tomatoes shows 46% of 41 critics giving it a positive review, with an average score of 4.6 out of 10. The site’s consensus says, “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 2 represents an improvement over the original in most respects, although the Poohniverse remains a place made for hardcore slasher fans.”

Metacritic’s score is less kind, giving the movie 27 out of 100 based on nine reviews, which it calls “generally unfavorable.”

Despite the mixed reception, the franchise has built a cult following. Now, with Stanley’s writing, a bigger budget, and new characters from the beloved children’s stories, “Winnie-the-Pooh: Blood and Honey 3” is set to push the madness even further.

It seems the Hundred Acre Wood still has plenty of blood to spill. Have something to add? Let us know in the comments!
