‘The Boys’ Prequel ‘Vought Rising’ Kicks Off Filming Soon with First Look at Its Supes
A fresh chapter in The Boys universe is on the way, and this one rewinds the clock. Prime Video has confirmed that the prequel series, Vought Rising, begins filming this month.
Announced at the 2024 San Diego Comic-Con, the series brings back Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy and Aya Cash as Stormfront. Set in the 1950s, the story will explore Vought’s dark origins, following a twisted murder mystery woven together with Soldier Boy’s early exploits and Stormfront’s dangerous ambitions.
Prime Video has also revealed part of the cast: Mason Dye as Bombsight, Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel, and Will Hochman as Torpedo. The streamer shared first-look portraits of these four, saying “once upon a time, these four were as American as apple pie.”
Alongside Cash’s Stormfront, the show will feature Jorden Myrie, Nicolò Pasetti, Ricky Staffieri, and Brian J. Smith, though their characters remain under wraps.
The release date and trailer are still on hold. For now, let’s meet the Supes we know about.
1. Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy

Before Homelander came along, Soldier Boy was America’s first and greatest superhero, as well as the leader of the team Payback. He’s been a key figure in The Boys since season one and quickly became a fan favorite thanks to his sharp tongue and the fact that, so far, he’s the only one proven capable of taking down Homelander. In Vought Rising, Soldier Boy is expected to be one of the two main leads.
Not much is known about what he was up to in the 1950s, but it’s confirmed that during that time he crossed paths with Stormfront, who was then known as Liberty. In 1952, the two co-founded the infamous event known as Herogasm.
2. Aya Cash as Stormfront / Liberty

Stormfront doesn’t have a new character poster yet, but fans of The Boys already know the kind of chaos she can bring. Back in the 1950s, she operated under the name Liberty. It was during this time that she met Soldier Boy, and the two formed a connection. In 1952, they started the infamous annual event known as Herogasm, a wild gathering where superheroes indulged in excess, and the pair had their own fling there. During this era, she was also involved in at least one racially motivated killing.
3. Mason Dye as Bombsight

Very little is known about Bombsight, but it’s believed he received his Compound V straight from Frederick Vought himself, transforming him into a Supe and granting him his abilities.
In 1953, he appeared in a thriller movie titled The Curse of Fu Manchu. Audiences were first introduced to him in season four of The Boys (he was merely mentioned) and his role will be explored further in the upcoming prequel.
4. Will Hochman as Torpedo

Torpedo remains a mystery, as he hasn’t been mentioned in the show yet. What we do know is that he was one of the earliest Supes, alongside Soldier Boy. Actor Will Hochman, who plays Torpedo, is known for his role as Joe Hill in Blue Bloods.
5. Elizabeth Posey as Private Angel

Like Torpedo and Bombsight, Private Angel is a brand-new character, and very little is known about her ahead of the show’s release. Elizabeth Posey, who plays her, is best known for portraying Becky in the popular series Euphoria, Tammy in the movie Gully, and Tricia in the wrestling drama Heels (2021). She also appeared in the long-running comedy It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia (2005).
