‘The Boys’ Prequel ‘Vought Rising’ Reveals New Look At Torpedo As Fans Get New Clues About The Mystery Supe
Prime Video’s expanding world of ‘The Boys’ keeps getting bigger, and fans just got another small but important tease from the upcoming prequel series ‘Vought Rising.’ The new project is set decades before the main show and will explore the early days of Vought and some of the first superheroes connected to Compound V.
The series already has plenty of attention because it brings back Jensen Ackles as Soldier Boy and Aya Cash as Stormfront, who will appear under the name Clara Vought in the story. Eric Kripke previously described the show as a dark and violent mystery set in the 1950s, with a very different tone from the modern timeline seen in ‘The Boys.’
Now, a viral post from the X account The Boys Out of Context Clips has given fans their first tease of Torpedo, one of the new heroes coming to ‘Vought Rising.’
The character will be played by Will Hochman, and the new photo features an in-universe poster connected to the character. The reveal quickly started conversations among fans online about how important Torpedo could become in the prequel series.
Torpedo has already been confirmed as one of the major new characters in the show. Reports about the casting were first shared when Hochman joined the series alongside other newcomers including Elizabeth Posey and Mason Dye.
Details about the character are still mostly secret, but early information suggests Torpedo is tied to the earliest version of Compound V used during World War II. According to background information connected to the franchise, he is one of the first experimental superheroes created before the more stable version of Compound V existed.
The new teaser also matches the retro military look already shown in earlier first look images from the series. Previous promotional material revealed that several heroes in ‘Vought Rising’ wear uniforms inspired by post war America and old comic book designs.
Outside the official reveals, fans across Reddit and social media have already started building theories about Torpedo’s role in the story. Some believe he could become one of the few genuinely heroic characters in the franchise, while others think the series will eventually expose him as another morally broken supe connected to Vought’s darker history.
‘Vought Rising’ is expected to arrive in 2027 and recently wrapped filming. The series will continue expanding the franchise even as ‘The Boys’ heads toward its final season.
