‘The Fantastic Four: First Steps’ Finally Gets a Release Date for Digital Platforms & a First Look At Exclusive Scene
The Fantastic Four: First Steps will be available on digital platforms starting September 23. Fans can stream or buy the latest Marvel Cinematic Universe adventure on Apple TV, Amazon, and Fandango at Home.
The film introduces the new MCU superteam: Reed Richards, also known as Mister Fantastic, played by Pedro Pascal; Sue Storm, the Invisible Woman, played by Vanessa Kirby; Johnny Storm, the Human Torch, played by Joseph Quinn; and Ben Grimm, the Thing, played by Ebon Moss-Bachrach.
The story takes place in a retrofuturistic 1960s, where the heroes face a planet-devouring threat from Galactus, played by Ralph Ineson. The villain demands that Reed and Sue hand over their newborn son, or he will destroy Earth.
The digital release comes with several bonus features. There’s an exclusive deleted scene where Sue meets Harvey Elder, also known as Mole Man, played by Paul Walter Hauser. Mole Man leads an underground community called Subterranea and initially causes trouble for the Fantastic Four.

For fans who prefer physical copies, the movie will be released on 4K UHD, Blu-ray, and DVD on October 14. Like the digital release, the discs include deleted scenes, featurettes exploring the characters and the retrofuturistic world, a gag reel, and commentary from director Matt Shakman and production designer Kasra Farahani.
The theatrical release of Fantastic Four: First Steps hit cinemas on July 25. It runs 1 hour and 55 minutes and is rated PG-13 “for action/violence and some language.” Marvel films typically appear on Disney+ a few weeks after their Blu-ray release. If this schedule holds, fans can expect it to stream on Disney+ sometime in mid-to-late November.
The movie also stars Julia Garner as Shalla-Bal/Silver Surfer, Natasha Lyonne as Rachel Rozman, and features supporting performances from the main cast, including Paul Walter Hauser as Mole Man and Ralph Ineson as Galactus.
This release gives fans a chance to enjoy the Fantastic Four at home and see some extra material that didn’t make it into theaters. The retrofuturistic style and new MCU team promise a fresh take for both longtime fans and newcomers.
