‘The Last of Us’ Star Says They Want to Play Spider-Man: “I Could Be Spider-Man. Tom Holland Did a Great Job Though”

Bellay Ramsey is opening up about superheroes and their surprising interest in joining the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The topic came up because of Pedro Pascal’s recent role in “The Fantastic Four: First Steps,” which sparked a conversation about superhero movies.

“You didn’t call [Pascal] and say you wanted to be in the next MCU movie?” a reporter asked Ramsey.

“I don’t know about that,” Ramsey laughed. “I could be Spider-Man. Tom Holland did a great job though. So maybe they do need to make a new [superhero] for me.”

Even though Ramsey is now well-known for playing Ellie on the hit series “The Last of Us,” they are still new to the world of superhero films. In fact, they’ve only watched one Marvel movie, an Andrew Garfield “Spider-Man” film.

Ramsey is keeping busy this year with a number of exciting projects. They will appear in the movies Sunny Dancer and Harmonia, and also star in the TV series Maya. With these roles, they are showing that their range goes far beyond the world of “The Last of Us.”

Their role as Ellie has also brought Ramsey major critical recognition. They have been nominated for an Emmy for the second year in a row for their work on the show. “The Last of Us” heads into Emmy night on September 14 with 17 nominations, making it one of the most celebrated shows of the year.

Even with the fame and awards, Ramsey remains humble and excited about the future. They are clearly open to new opportunities, whether it’s taking on complex dramatic roles or, as they jokingly suggested, stepping into the shoes of Spider-Man.

Fans can now imagine Ramsey swinging into superhero territory, and with their talent and enthusiasm, it doesn’t seem like such a far-off dream.
