‘The Pitt’ Season 3 Adds Six New Cast Members as HBO Max Drama Expands
The Pitt Season 3 is getting a bigger cast as HBO Max’s popular medical drama adds six new actors ahead of its return. According to Deadline, the upcoming season has officially brought in a mix of new student doctors, patients, and medical staff members who will join the emergency department storyline.
The new additions include Pruitt Taylor Vince, known for Superman, who will play emergency department patient Lance Candella. Malachi Beasley from A House of Dynamite has joined the cast as Student Doctor Taj Osei, while The Sex Lives of College Girls star Cheyenne Perez will appear as Student Doctor Marisol Elena Sambrano Monterossa.
The new season will also feature Jeremy Radin as ED patient Grant Emerson, Charlz Williams from SEAL Team as ED patient Anguss Gunn, and Rosanny Zayas from The L Word: Generation Q as Physician Assistant Vera Delgado, according to Deadline.
The casting news comes as production on The Pitt Season 3 is officially underway. Filming began on June 16, with the cast sharing a behind-the-scenes look at the start of production. The new season was confirmed ahead of the show’s 2026 return, and both star and executive producer Noah Wyle and creator R. Scott Gemmill have revealed that the story will continue four months after the events of Season 2.
The next chapter will take place during a colder time of year, bringing new challenges and winter-related medical cases to the hospital. While the exact story details remain under wraps, the latest casting updates suggest that the emergency department will welcome several new faces.

The new arrivals also come after some major cast changes in recent months. Season 2 saw several characters leave or step away from the series. Supriya Ganesh’s Dr. Samira Mohan was confirmed to be leaving before the Season 2 finale, while Shabana Azeez revealed that Victoria Javadi would not return to the ED. Sepideh Moafi also indicated that Dr. Baran Al-Hashimi would not be coming back right away.
However, the show is also expanding the role of some existing characters. HBO Max confirmed that Ayesha Harris’ Dr. Parker Ellis will become a series regular in Season 3 after appearing in a recurring role during Season 2.
That promotion makes sense considering Dr. Ellis remains connected to one of the biggest storylines from the previous season. Her character, along with Taylor Dearden’s Dr. Mel King, is still dealing with the aftermath of a malpractice lawsuit that has not yet been resolved.
Interestingly, many of the first new additions for Season 3 are younger medical professionals. The show introduced several student doctors and nurses during Season 2, including characters played by Irene Choi, Laëtitia Hollard, and Lucas Iverson.
With new student doctors Taj Osei and Marisol Elena Sambrano Monterossa joining the hospital, fans are curious to see how the series will introduce these characters into the existing team. Since Season 3 continues within the same medical year as Season 2, the show may need to explain why these new characters were not previously seen.
Production is still in the early stages, meaning more casting announcements could arrive soon. Deadline reports that additional student doctors and returning characters may be revealed as filming continues.
With its growing cast and new medical challenges ahead, The Pitt Season 3 appears ready to continue expanding the intense hospital drama that has made it one of HBO Max’s biggest recent successes.
