Something new is coming for Marvel fans, and it’s already getting people talking. The studio is slowly building up excitement again, this time with a darker and more grounded story that focuses on one of its most brutal characters.

The Punisher: One Last Kill is set to arrive soon on Disney+, and a brand-new teaser has just been released, giving fans a first real taste of what’s ahead. The short clip leans heavily into the gritty tone the character is known for, hinting at violence, inner conflict, and a story that doesn’t hold back.

The special follows Frank Castle as he tries to move on from his past and live without revenge. But things don’t stay quiet for long. He gets pulled back into trouble, and it quickly becomes clear that walking away from his old life won’t be easy.

Jon Bernthal returns in the lead role, something fans have been waiting for since the original The Punisher ended. This time, he’s also more involved behind the scenes. According to earlier reports, he helped shape the story himself and worked closely on the script to make sure the character feels right.

The project is directed by Reinaldo Marcus Green, and the two previously worked together before, which seems to have helped bring a more personal tone to the story. Filming took place in New York and moved pretty quickly, with production wrapping in just a few weeks.

This new chapter also connects to Daredevil: Born Again, where Castle already made his return. That show helped reintroduce him into the current Marvel timeline, setting things up for this standalone story.

The teaser doesn’t give away too much, but it makes one thing clear. This won’t be a light or easy watch. It’s focused on pain, choices, and the cost of violence. And for fans of the character, that’s exactly what they were hoping for.

The special is set to premiere on May 12.
