‘The Rings of Power’ Season 3 Expands Cast With Three New Additions

Prime Video’s The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power is bringing in new faces for its third season. According to sources close to the production, three actors have joined the cast: Andrew Richardson, Zubin Varla, and Adam Young. Richardson is set to take on a main role, while Varla and Young will appear throughout the season in recurring parts.

Andrew Richardson, a British actor with a solid background in theater, has also been seen in several films like Daughter of the Bride, The Independent, Killer Among Us, and Jack London’s Martin Eden. On television, he’s shown up in series such as Extrapolations, Fantasy Island, and The Last O.G.

Zubin Varla is also from the UK and has already done voice work for The Rings of Power. He’s acted in shows like Andor, Holby City, Will, Deep State, and Strike Back. On the film side, he’s been in A Little Life and took part in stage-to-screen versions of plays like Dara and A Midsummer Night’s Dream.

Adam Young is known for his role in the horror film Don’t Breathe 2, where he played Jim-Bob. He’s also appeared in shows like Masters of the Air, Romantic Getaway, The Witcher: Blood Origin, and EastEnders. Young is based in London and has been steadily growing his TV and film career.

These new additions will join returning cast members such as Charlie Vickers, Morfydd Clark, Robert Aramayo, Ismael Cruz Córdova, Charles Edwards, Robert Strange, and Markella Kavenagh.

Season 3 is being produced by showrunners J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, who are also executive producers. They’re working alongside Lindsey Weber, Justin Doble, Kate Hazell, and director Charlotte Brändström. The production team also includes Ally O’Leary, Tim Keene, and Andrew Lee.

The series is set long before the events of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings. It tells the story of Sauron’s rise to power, and how he forged the famous Rings of Power that would go on to shape the history of Middle-earth.
