Will Ferrell stars as Brad Whitaker, a mild-mannered radio executive trying to win over his stepchildren—until their biological father, Dusty Mayron (Mark Wahlberg), roars back into the picture and upends the household dynamic. Linda Cardellini co-stars as Sara Whitaker, with supporting turns from Thomas Haden Church, Hannibal Buress, Bobby Cannavale, Scarlett Estevez, and Owen Vaccaro. This one arrives Tuesday, September 9.

Directed by Sean Anders, the film was written by Brian Burns, Sean Anders, and John Morris, and produced by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Chris Henchy, and John Morris for Red Granite Pictures and Gary Sanchez Productions. Michael Andrews composed the score, Julio Macat handled cinematography, and editors Eric Kissack and Brad Wilhite shaped the final cut.

The sequel reunites co-dads Brad and Dusty—played again by Will Ferrell and Mark Wahlberg—only now their own dads show up for the holidays: John Lithgow as Don Whitaker and Mel Gibson as Kurt Mayron. Linda Cardellini returns as Sara Whitaker, with John Cena appearing as Roger, along with Scarlett Estevez and Owen Vaccaro. This follow-up lands Tuesday, September 9.

Sean Anders returns to direct from a screenplay he co-wrote with John Morris, with producing duties by Will Ferrell, Adam McKay, Chris Henchy, and John Morris under Gary Sanchez Productions. Michael Andrews again provides the music, Julio Macat serves as cinematographer, and Brad Wilhite edits; the film continues the family-comedy thread with a Christmas backdrop.

Miranda Cosgrove leads this romantic comedy as Dawn, a single woman who signs up for a reality-dating show believing it’s set in Paris, France—only to discover she’s actually in Paris, Texas; what starts as a plan to get eliminated gets complicated when sparks fly with the bachelor, Trey (Pierson Fodé). The ensemble includes Madison Pettis, Frances Fisher, Yvonne Orji, Torrance Coombs, Hannah Stocking, Madeleine Arthur, and more. It premieres Friday, September 12.

Directed by Janeen Damian from a screenplay by Nicole Henrich, the film is produced by Brad Krevoy and Michael Damian for MPCA/Brad Krevoy Productions, with Cosgrove also executive producing. Principal photography took place in British Columbia locations including Vancouver and Agassiz in late 2024; recent trade coverage lists a 105-minute runtime.

‘Canelo Álvarez vs. Terence Crawford’ (2025)

'Canelo Álvarez vs. Terence Crawford' (2025)
Riyadh Season

On Saturday, September 13, undisputed super middleweight champion Saúl “Canelo” Álvarez (62-2-2) meets four-division titleholder Terence “Bud” Crawford (41-0, 31 KOs) in a 12-round championship bout at Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas. Crawford steps up in weight to challenge for Álvarez’s unified 168-lb crown, adding a rare crossover chapter to both fighters’ legacies.

The event is part of a Riyadh Season promotion, organized with Turki Alalshikh and featuring involvement from UFC’s Dana White; it caps a fight-week schedule built around Mexican Independence Day weekend. Crawford enters after moving to 154 lbs in 2024 to defeat Israil Madrimov for a super welterweight belt, while Álvarez defends his collection of super middleweight titles.
