Hulu’s upcoming reboot of The X-Files from filmmaker Ryan Coogler has added a large group of guest stars. The new casting update includes eight actors joining the series in supporting roles as the project continues development at Hulu.

The new guest cast features Amy Madigan, Steve Buscemi, Ben Foster, Devery Jacobs, Lochlyn Munro, Tantoo Cardinal, Joel D. Montgrand, and Sofia Grace Clifton. They join previously announced leads Himesh Patel and Danielle Deadwyler, who play two FBI agents assigned to investigate cases involving unexplained and unusual phenomena.

The reboot centers on a reopened FBI division that once handled strange and unexplained cases. Patel and Deadwyler’s characters come from very different backgrounds, but they are forced to work together and gradually form an unexpected partnership while dealing with the mysteries of the department.

The series is being written and directed at pilot stage by Ryan Coogler, who also serves as an executive producer through his Proximity Media banner. According to production credits, Chris Carter, the creator of the original series, is also involved as an executive producer. Jennifer Yale is serving as showrunner, with Sev Ohanian and Zinzi Coogler also executive producing.

The project is produced under Onyx Collective and 20th Television. Several members of the Coogler team, including Simone Harris and Dezi Gallegos, are also involved in overseeing development.

The newly announced guest cast brings together actors with strong film and television backgrounds. Amy Madigan recently appeared in the horror film Weapons, while Steve Buscemi is known for his roles in series like Boardwalk Empire and Wednesday. Ben Foster has worked on films such as Hell or High Water, and Devery Jacobs is known for her acclaimed role in Reservation Dogs, where she also worked behind the camera.

Other additions include Lochlyn Munro, who has appeared in films like White Chicks, and Tantoo Cardinal, a veteran actress with a long career including Killers of the Flower Moon and Dances with Wolves. Joel D. Montgrand and Sofia Grace Clifton also join the ensemble with recent television and film credits.

The original The X-Files became a major hit in the 1990s, known for its mix of government conspiracy stories and paranormal investigations. The new reboot aims to continue that idea in a modern setting while introducing a new cast and updated storytelling approach under Ryan Coogler’s creative direction.
