There Is an Old 'Invincible' Series You Probably Haven't Seen Which Is Now Considered Lost

Invincible is currently enjoying a lot of success. The gritty comic book series is currently airing its highly successful animated adaptation on Amazon. The third season ended just recently, as fans are getting ready for more episodes sooner rather than later.

And while most people know this one as the first proper adaptation of the original comic book, did you know that there is an older one?

It’s not a series per se, but rather an old motion comic that cannot be viewed anywhere online (at least not legally), which is why it is considered a piece of “lost media” now.

The story takes us back to 2008 when streaming wasn’t really a thing and when video stores still dominated the market. MTV decided to adapt the comic book into a series that was actually a motion comic rather than a properly animated series. They animated the panels and they had actual actors reading the lines.

The series, according to the original listing, aired from July 22, 2008 to April 16, 2009 and a total of 13 episodes have been produced. For a while, the series was available on Amazon’s pre-Prime video player, as well as iTunes, Xbox Live, and MTV Mobile.

But that’s the issue. The series has since been taken down from all platforms and it is unavailable anywhere online. Supposedly, even less legal sources don’t have the original episodes anymore, which is why the series is now considered a piece of lost media, which is a bummer.
