At the Golden Globes earlier this year, Chalamet won Best Performance by a Male Actor for Marty Supreme. During his acceptance speech, he gave a heartfelt shout-out to Jenner, saying, “My dad instilled in me a spirit of gratitude growing up. Always be grateful for what you have. It’s allowed me to leave this ceremony in the past empty-handed, my head held high, grateful just to be here.”
He continued, “I’d be lying if I didn’t say those moments didn’t make this moment that much sweeter. For my parents, for my partner, I love you. Thank you so much.” Jenner was seen smiling and mouthing “I love you, too” from the audience as he spoke.
Chalamet also highlighted Jenner during his Critics Choice Awards win, telling the audience, “And lastly, I’ll just say, thank you to my partner of three years. Thank you for our foundation. I love you. I couldn’t do this without you. Thank you from the bottom of my heart, thank you so much.”
Marty Supreme, directed by Josh Safdie, follows a table tennis player determined to reach the top at any cost. Chalamet trained for years in table tennis to prepare for the role, showing his dedication to the character.
