Timothée Chalamet has cleared up the growing online talk linking him to the masked rapper EsDeeKid. The rumours ended after the actor appeared in a new music video with the rapper, confirming they are not the same person.
For weeks, fans online had claimed Chalamet was secretly performing as EsDeeKid. The rapper keeps his face covered and only shows his eyes, which led some people to point out a supposed match with the actor. When the BBC asked Chalamet about the rumours earlier this week, he refused to give a straight answer and said, “No comment… You’ll see, all in due time.”
The mystery was put to rest when Chalamet shared a video of himself rapping alongside EsDeeKid on a remix of the track “4Raws,” which recently entered the UK Top 40. In the clip, Chalamet plays into the joke by first covering his face before revealing himself.
During his verse, he raps, “It’s Timothée Chalamet chillin’, tryin’ to stack $100 million.” He also mentions his partner Kylie Jenner with the line, “Girl got $1 billion.”
The video was filmed at a small shop in north London and was reposted by EsDeeKid, adding to its reach. Fans quickly shared the clip as it spread across social media. The collaboration arrived after both Chalamet and EsDeeKid stayed silent while the rumours gained attention and the rapper’s music climbed the charts.

BBC Radio 1 presenter Greg James also questioned Chalamet about the rumours during a recent interview. At the time, the actor repeated, “All will be revealed in due time.” After the video dropped, James updated his social media post to confirm that the mystery had finally been solved.
The collaboration also included several references to Chalamet’s upcoming film “Marty Supreme,” which helped keep the spotlight on his current projects. While some fans enjoyed the theory, many had already doubted it, especially given EsDeeKid’s strong regional accent.
The rumours may be over, but the moment turned into a major online event that boosted attention for both Chalamet and EsDeeKid.
