Timothée Chalamet Turns Heads at London Critics’ Circle Awards in Sleek, Jaw-Dropping Suit
Timothée Chalamet is officially back in the winners’ circle, and he brought a dash of Hollywood’s “it-boy” energy to the British capital to prove it. The 30-year-old actor arrived at London’s May Fair Hotel on Sunday night to claim the Actor of the Year trophy at the 46th annual London Critics’ Circle Film Awards.
Recognized for his frantic and fearless lead performance in Josh Safdie’s sports dramedy Marty Supreme, Chalamet beat out heavyweights like Leonardo DiCaprio and Ethan Hawke to secure the honor.

The win marks a full-circle moment for Chalamet, who last took home this specific award in 2018 for his breakout role in Call Me By Your Name. Before heading to the ceremony, the actor spent his weekend engaging with fans at the Prince Charles Cinema, where he participated in a series of Q&As alongside screenwriter Richard Curtis.

In Marty Supreme, Chalamet plays Marty Mauser, a table tennis hustler obsessed with greatness, a role loosely inspired by the real-life champion Marty Reisman. Clad in a sharp black suit for the awards, Chalamet was greeted by crowds of fans who had waited hours near Leicester Square just to catch a glimpse of the star. While he skipped the red carpet selfies to maintain a low profile before the show, his presence was the undeniable lightning rod of the evening.
The night’s other big winner was Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, which dominated the technical and major categories. The film was named Film of the Year, while Anderson himself took home both Director and Screenwriter of the Year. Sean Penn also secured a Supporting Actor win for his role in the revolutionary thriller. Meanwhile, Jessie Buckley claimed the Actress of the Year title for her performance in the Shakespearean drama Hamnet.
Outside of the main competitive categories, the Circle honored industry legends with special citations. Cynthia Erivo received the Derek Malcolm Award for Innovation, presented by her friend Hannah Waddingham, in recognition of a transformative career that most recently saw her lead the Wicked films. Additionally, Guillermo del Toro was celebrated with the Dilys Powell Award for Excellence in Film, a prestigious honor previously bestowed upon the likes of Kate Winslet and Daniel Craig.
Chalamet’s victory in London is just the latest stop in a massive 2026 for the actor, who has become a fixture of the current awards season.
Having already secured a Critics’ Choice Award for Marty Supreme, he is widely considered a frontrunner for the upcoming Oscars. His schedule remains packed as he continues to balance prestige indies with major franchises, including the highly anticipated Dune: Part Three, which is currently slated for a December 2026 release.
