The video appeared while Chalamet was in France to promote his Oscar-nominated movie Marty Supreme. According to posts shared on X, he attended the film’s premiere and later left an after-party. Soon after, footage of him exiting a hotel with Vartolomei started circulating. One viral post claimed the pair reacted nervously when they noticed cameras and later tried to leave again with strong security. That claim became the main source of the speculation.

The reaction online was fast and intense. Many users shared screenshots and suggested something secret was happening. Accusations spread quickly, and the story grew bigger within hours.

Other social media users soon challenged the narrative. Additional videos showed the actor and the actress moving with a larger group of people and security.
