Tom Hiddleston is opening up about his role in the upcoming Marvel blockbuster, Avengers: Doomsday.

The actor, known for playing Loki, recently finished filming for the movie and shared some hints about the story with GQ. He described his role as “monumental” and said, “The centre of the story is absolutely brilliant, and was so surprising when I read it. It just has never been done before.”

Avengers: Doomsday continues from where Loki left off in the TV series’ second season. The show ended with Loki taking control of the Multiverse by weaving branches of time together after the Temporal Loom, a device meant to protect the Sacred Timeline, collapsed. Fans last saw him sitting on a throne at the Citadel at the End of Time, determined to guide the Multiverse in his own way.

The film is set for release in the United States on December 18, 2026, and will be shown in IMAX theaters. It was initially scheduled for May 2, but production delays, including the 2023 Writers Guild of America strike, pushed the release to December 2026. Avengers: Doomsday will be part of Phase Six of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Hiddleston has remained tight-lipped about the full plot, but his comments suggest that Loki will play a central role in the story, and fans can expect surprises. “My contribution has been contributed. It is monumental,” he added, keeping the excitement high while giving away very little.
