‘Toy Story 5’ has been chasing milestones like this since its record-breaking opening weekend, when it pulled in 160,000,000 dollars domestically, the second-best debut ever for an animated film behind only ‘Incredibles 2.’ That launch also marked the biggest opening of 2026 at the time, edging out the earlier record set by ‘Super Mario Galaxy Movie.’

Audiences have remained enthusiastic well beyond opening weekend, awarding the film an A grade on CinemaScore, matching the response to earlier entries in the franchise.
