Netflix is getting ready to release a new holiday romantic comedy called A Merry Little Ex-Mas. The movie is directed by Steve Carr and written by Holly Hester. It stars Alicia Silverstone, Oliver Hudson, Jameela Jamil, Pierson Fodé, and Melissa Joan Hart.
The story follows a divorcing couple who plan to spend one last Christmas together with their children. Just as the holiday celebrations are about to begin, the husband’s new girlfriend shows up, turning the family Christmas upside down.

The film is produced by Hartbreak Films, with Paula Hart and Melissa Joan Hart serving as producers. Principal photography started in Toronto on February 3, and continued through March, according to production reports.
Netflix added the film to its 2025 lineup back in January. In August, the streaming service announced that A Merry Little Ex-Mas will be released on November 12. The first trailer for the movie has already dropped, giving viewers a sneak peek at the holiday chaos and comedic drama the film promises.
