‘Transformers’ Star Shia LaBeouf Reveals Wild ‘Holes’ Story – Sigourney Weaver Allegedly Slapped His Dad After He Hit On Her
Shia LaBeouf is opening up about some unusual memories from his early years as a child actor, including a story involving his father and his former ‘Holes’ co-star Sigourney Weaver. According to LaBeouf, his dad, Jeffrey Craig LaBeouf, often caused problems on movie sets because of the way he interacted with some of his son’s female costars.
During an appearance at the 2026 Fanboy Expo in Knoxville, Tennessee, LaBeouf recalled several moments from his childhood acting career and claimed his father was removed from multiple sets after upsetting actresses. The actor said one of the most memorable incidents happened while filming Disney’s 2003 adventure movie ‘Holes,’ where he starred alongside Weaver.
LaBeouf claimed his father flirted with Weaver during production and that the actress reacted strongly to his behavior. “He hit on Sigourney Weaver one time,” LaBeouf said, according to PEOPLE. He then alleged, “she slapped him on Holes, on the Holes set.”
In ‘Holes,’ LaBeouf played Stanley Yelnats, a teenager who is wrongly accused of a crime and sent to a harsh detention camp. Weaver played the strict Warden Walker, the leader of the mysterious camp where Stanley and the other boys are forced to dig holes every day.
LaBeouf also shared another story involving his father and actress Lucy Liu while they were working together on 2003’s ‘Charlie’s Angels: Full Throttle.’ The actor said his father’s behavior also made Liu uncomfortable during filming.
“My dad was fresh out of prison,” LaBeouf said while discussing the production. “So we were on this set, and here’s all these pretty girls walking around. Bad news.”
The actor claimed Liu did not get along with his father because of his repeated attempts to get her attention. LaBeouf said she “couldn’t stand” him because he was “always whistling at her.” He added that Liu would avoid being around his father by walking around his trailer area.
“But he wasn’t going nowhere, he’s my dad,” LaBeouf said, explaining that despite the uncomfortable situations, his father was still part of his life and often stayed close while he was working.
LaBeouf has spoken openly in the past about his complicated relationship with his father. Jeffrey Craig LaBeouf, a Vietnam veteran and former professional clown, had a difficult history and spent time in prison before reconnecting with his son later in life. Shia was raised mainly by his mother, Shayna Saide, after his parents separated when he was young.

The actor has previously discussed how his childhood affected his career and personal life, including the challenges of growing up famous at an early age. Despite their complicated relationship, LaBeouf reportedly became closer with his father in recent years, especially after moving to New Orleans to spend more time with him.
Representatives for Sigourney Weaver, Lucy Liu, and Shia LaBeouf have not publicly commented on the claims.
What do you think about Shia LaBeouf sharing stories about his father’s behavior on movie sets?
The stories add another unusual chapter to LaBeouf’s long history of sharing behind-the-scenes experiences from his early Hollywood career. While ‘Holes’ remains one of his most beloved films, the actor’s latest comments reveal a very different side of what was happening away from the cameras during that time.
