Donald Trump did not hold back in his reaction to Bad Bunny’s 2026 Super Bowl halftime show. Shortly after the Apple Music Halftime Show on Sunday, February 9, the president posted his thoughts on Truth Social. As expected from his previous comments, he was highly critical of the performance.

Trump called the show “absolutely terrible” and “disgusting.” He added, “The Super Bowl Halftime Show is absolutely terrible, one of the worst, EVER! It makes no sense, is an affront to the Greatness of America, and doesn’t represent our standards of Success, Creativity, or Excellence.”

He also criticized the language and dancing, saying, “Nobody understands a word this guy is saying, and the dancing is disgusting, especially for young children that are watching from throughout the U.S.A., and all over the World.”

Trump went further, calling the performance a “slap in the face” to the country and claiming that the NFL should change its new Kickoff Rule. He concluded, “There is nothing inspirational about this mess of a Halftime Show and watch, it will get great reviews from the Fake News Media, because they haven’t got a clue of what is going on in the REAL WORLD — And, by the way, the NFL should immediately replace its ridiculous new Kickoff Rule. MAKE AMERICA GREAT AGAIN! President DONALD J. TRUMP.”

His comments stood in stark contrast to the message Bad Bunny shared at the end of his performance: “The only thing more powerful than hate is love.” The Puerto Rican rapper brought elements of his culture to the stage and told a story of love throughout the show. His set was inspired by his hometown community in Puerto Rico and aimed to share positivity on football’s biggest night.

Trump has been critical of Bad Bunny for some time. The singer has spoken out against Trump’s administration, particularly its immigration policies. At the 2026 Grammys, Bad Bunny criticized ICE, and he chose to skip U.S. stops on his Debí Tirar Más Fotos World Tour due to fears of ICE raids at his concerts.

The halftime show came during Super Bowl LX, which featured the Seattle Seahawks and the New England Patriots at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara, California. Fans also spotted numerous celebrities in attendance throughout the event.

This is another example of how polarizing the Super Bowl halftime show can be. While Bad Bunny focused on spreading love and culture, Trump’s reaction highlights how divided opinions remain on these performances. What do you think about his comments on the halftime show?
