Donald Trump has once again taken aim at George Clooney, this time over the actor and his family becoming French citizens. The president shared his comments on Truth Social on Wednesday, using the moment to also attack several Democratic figures.

In his post, Trump mocked George and Amal Clooney and criticized France, tying his comments to immigration and crime. He wrote on Truth Social that the Clooneys were “two of the worst political prognosticators of all time” and blamed France’s current issues on immigration policies, while also comparing them to policies under Joe Biden.

Trump then went further, bringing up Clooney’s past political involvement. He claimed the actor turned away from Biden after a public debate and later supported Kamala Harris. Trump also used the post to insult other Democrats, including Gavin Newsom. He added that Clooney received more attention for his political views than for his acting career, calling his movies forgettable.

George Clooney has been openly critical of Trump for years and has supported Democratic candidates. Speaking to CBS in April, Clooney said he is not bothered by Trump’s insults and pushed back with his own sharp words. “I don’t care,” Clooney said. “My job is not to please the President of the United States. My job is to try and tell the truth when I can.” He also acknowledged that public figures like Elon Musk have criticized him, adding that everyone has the right to speak their mind.

More recently, Clooney discussed Trump’s legal actions against media outlets in an interview with Variety. He criticized major networks for settling lawsuits instead of fighting them. “If CBS and ABC had challenged those lawsuits and said, ‘Go f*** yourself,’ we wouldn’t be where we are in the country,” Clooney said.

This latest exchange shows that the tension between Trump and Clooney is far from over. Trump continues to use social media to attack his critics, while Clooney remains outspoken about politics and the media.

This back-and-forth feels more personal than political at this point. It keeps grabbing attention, but it rarely adds anything new to the conversation. What do you think about Trump going after celebrities like Clooney, and Clooney’s response to it all? Share your thoughts in the comments.
