‘VisionQuest’ Trailer Finally Drops and Vision’s Reunion With Ultron Looks Wild
The Marvel Cinematic Universe has spent years teasing what comes after ‘WandaVision,’ and fans have waited even longer to see where Paul Bettany’s synthetic Avenger lands next. Between grief, resurrection, and a fractured sense of self, Vision’s journey has always been one of the MCU’s quieter emotional threads. That patience is finally paying off.
‘Agatha All Along’ picked up the torch from ‘WandaVision’ back in 2024, and now the trilogy is closing out with its most anticipated chapter yet. The eight episode series concludes the ‘WandaVision’ trilogy and premieres October 14 on Disney Plus. The show has been a long time coming, with early trailer footage first shown to fans at New York Comic Con before this wider rollout.
The first full trailer has now arrived, and it comes straight from Marvel Studios itself. Marvel unveiled the first look trailer for ‘VisionQuest‘ during a presentation featuring Kevin Feige. The footage brings Paul Bettany back as the all white version of Vision seen at the end of ‘WandaVision,’ alongside James Spader’s shocking return as Ultron.
Created by showrunner Terry Matalas, ‘VisionQuest’ follows the White Vision as he struggles to regain his humanity and memories following the events of ‘WandaVision.’ Last seen flying away from Westview after his memories were restored, the all white Vision now understands his former life intellectually but remains unable to reconnect with it emotionally. That identity crisis appears to be the emotional engine driving the entire series.
The trailer takes viewers inside Vision’s mind, a surreal mansion populated by human manifestations of the artificial intelligences he has absorbed over the years. That includes stylized versions of familiar MCU AI systems, giving the show a genuinely strange visual identity that fits Vision’s fractured psyche.
Marvel TV boss Brad Winderbaum has framed the series as more than just spectacle. He explained that ‘VisionQuest’ blends action with fatherhood themes and real emotion, noting that the show explores whether a man raised by an abusive father figure can still become a good father himself. That thread reportedly ties directly to James Spader’s Ultron, long positioned as a twisted paternal figure to Vision within the MCU’s mythology.
Bettany himself couldn’t resist a little humor while introducing the footage. He joked that it has been an enormous joy playing Vision through the years, adding that he has died a number of times, though he noted that in the Marvel universe no one is really dead unless Kevin Feige says so, before revealing the trailer to the crowd.
The cast rounds out with several familiar faces from the trilogy’s expanding roster. Todd Stashwick plays Paladin, Faran Tahir reprises Raza of the Ten Rings, and Lauren Morais appears as a character tied to Thomas Shepherd. With Terry Matalas at the helm following his work on ‘Star Trek: Picard,’ expectations for tone and craft are already running high among longtime Marvel viewers.
