Hidden codes have been part of the ‘WandaVision‘ universe since before the first episode even aired. When the original trailer arrived, fans decoded text on Vision’s three-piece costume that included lines of code and hinted at his emotional turmoil. Marvel clearly remembers that the audience loves a puzzle.

That tradition has carried over into the final chapter of the trilogy. ‘VisionQuest’ premiered on Disney+ on October 14, following ‘WandaVision’ and ‘Agatha All Along’, and Disney billed it as the final installment of the story. The premiere date was revealed at Disney’s Upfront presentation, where Bettany took the stage alongside Robert Downey Jr. and Tom Hiddleston to debut the first teaser. Bettany leads the cast as Vision, with James Spader returning as Ultron, alongside Joe Locke as Billy Maximoff, Todd Stashwick as Paladin and James D’Arcy as J.A.R.V.I.S.

Now the official ‘WandaVision’ Instagram account has dropped a new post with another buried clue. The images show a figure in a dim, book-lined room beside the words ‘Who have you lost?’ and ‘Billy… Tomm…’, with a glitchy strip of static running along the bottom. Fans have decoded a hidden message in the code: ‘I am The Vision. I have always been The Vision.’

The line is not random. It is almost word for word what Vision says in the penultimate episode of ‘VisionQuest’, when the series finally forces him to face his identity crisis. The series finds Vision rebooted and in hiding, consulting the AI personas embedded in his programming, including F.R.I.D.A.Y., E.D.I.T.H., J.A.R.V.I.S. and Ultron. Throughout the show, Vision has drawn a line between his current self and his past self, treating himself as a rebuilt version of the original with access to his memories but not his feelings.

In that episode, he descends into the deepest levels of his own code to find the source code he needs to save Lisa, and a taunting J.I.M. tells him the answer lies within the Vision. His resolve shatters. He admits that Thomas is his son, that he feels unimaginable grief over the loss of Billy, Tommy and Wanda, and that he and the Vision are one and the same.

The Instagram post’s ‘Who have you lost?’ question echoes that breakthrough closely, and the cut-off ‘Billy… Tomm…’ hints at the names he finally lets himself say out loud. With the finale approaching, the timing feels intentional.

This is not the first coded post. Earlier entries on the account hid messages alongside the caption ‘Is it still the same ship?’, a question about what stays the same when everything changes. One image carried the line ‘You see an Avenger because I am Vision’, while another showed the classic red Vision bathed in crimson light.

Taken together, the posts read like a slow-motion version of the character’s arc, with each clue edging closer to an answer. The newest message appears to confirm that Vision has accepted who he is, which fits the trilogy’s central question about what makes him himself.

The question goes all the way back to ‘WandaVision’ itself. In that show’s finale, Wanda’s Vision restored White Vision’s memories, and White Vision declared ‘I am Vision’ before flying away from Westview. ‘VisionQuest’ was built to answer what came next, exploring the synthezoid’s search for purpose in a world without Thanos and without Wanda.

That context makes the hidden message feel like a full-circle moment. The first time he claimed the name, he was leaving. This time, the code suggests he is staying put and owning it.

None of this guarantees a happy ending. The post suggests Vision has reached an emotional peak, but there are still pieces left on the board, including the bounty on his head, the mercenary hunting his technology and the fate of the boy who may be his reincarnated son. Marvel has not said how the finale will resolve those threads, so the code is best read as a mood-setter rather than a spoiler.

The care that went into this campaign suggests the studio wants viewers to feel rewarded for paying attention. Whatever the finale delivers, the message is a reminder that this trilogy has always been about grief, identity and love.
