Illumination has released a special teaser for its upcoming animated film Minions & Monsters, and it brings together two very different worlds.

The short trailer celebrates the upcoming 2026 FIFA World Cup and the release of the family movie by mixing football with the chaotic world of the Minions.

The teaser shows the Minions playing a football match against a team of monsters. The game quickly turns against them as the monsters take control and start winning easily. The Minions realize they are about to lose and decide they need help fast.

In a funny twist, they attempt to use magic to bring in a superstar to save them. During the scene, the Minions even mention other pop stars like Dua Lipa and Sabrina Carpenter as possible choices. After the spell is cast by a Minion named Carl, the stadium lights flash and something unexpected happens.

Kylian Mbappé appears in the middle of the football pitch.

Mbappé, one of the most famous football players in the world and a key star for Real Madrid and the French national team, joins the Minions to help them turn the match around. With his arrival, the Minions regain control of the game and eventually win against the monsters.
