The trailer for the new romantic comedy The Wrong Paris starring Miranda Cosgrove has just been released. The movie is set to premiere on Netflix on September 12, 2025.

The Wrong Paris is directed by Janeen Damian and written by Nicole Henrich. It stars Miranda Cosgrove alongside Pierson Fodé, with a supporting cast including Madison Pettis, Torrance Coombs, Frances Fisher, Yvonne Orji, and several others.

The film was shot in Vancouver and Agassiz, British Columbia, during September and October of 2024.

The story follows Dawn, played by Cosgrove, a single woman who thinks she’s signing up for a dating show set in Paris, France. But when she arrives with other contestants, she’s shocked to discover the show is actually being filmed in Paris, Texas.

The producers trick the participants with a fake long flight, which certainly feels like something that should be illegal.

Miranda Cosgrove, who also serves as an executive producer on the film, told Entertainment Weekly that she’s a big fan of romantic comedies and reality shows like The Bachelor and Love on the Spectrum. “I love rom-coms and reality shows,” she said. “I love The Bachelor and Love on the Spectrum. I’ve always loved reality because my friends would always have parties around reality TV, especially The Bachelor. I just think it brings people together and it’s fun.”

Cosgrove enjoyed playing a character who isn’t actually there for love. “It was fun getting to play the character that isn’t really there for love,” she said. “There usually is at least one person who came for the experience and never thought they were actually going to get the guy. It was fun getting to play a character that’s not all about him and just trying to win all the challenges and just focused on making all the money at first. It reminds me of some of the characters on The Bachelor, and when I would watch with my friends, we’d always try to figure out who’s there for love and who’s there for money.”

Dawn is from a small town near Paris, Texas, and has always dreamed of studying art in Paris, France. Because she can’t afford the trip, she enters the dating show The Honeypot, hoping it will take her to the City of Light. Instead, she’s stuck just minutes away from home, which leads to plenty of hilarious moments.

The trailer for The Wrong Paris is now out, so mark your calendars for its Netflix release on September 12.
