[Watch] New ‘Good Boy’ Trailer Shows a Terrifying Haunted House Through a Dog’s Eyes
The first trailer for Good Boy, a 2025 supernatural horror movie, has just dropped, and it’s already turning heads. Directed by Ben Leonberg, this is his first time directing a feature film. What makes the movie stand out is that it shows a haunted house through the eyes of a dog named Indy, who is played by Leonberg’s real-life dog.
The story follows Todd, played by Shane Jensen, who moves into an old farmhouse after losing a family member. The house used to belong to his grandfather, played by Larry Fessenden, and people say it’s haunted.
Todd doesn’t believe the stories, but Indy notices strange and scary things that nobody else can see. Indy can’t talk to Todd, so he has to find ways to protect his owner from the danger hiding in the house. “Indy’s loyalty and courage are put to the test,” and the tension keeps building as the story goes on.

Critics are already praising Good Boy for its fresh take on horror and the emotional connection it creates. Leonberg shot many scenes from the dog’s eye level, which helps viewers see the world the way Indy sees it. He also worked closely with his dog Indy, who gave a strong performance without using CGI or special effects.
The cast also includes Arielle Friedman as Todd’s sister and Stuart Rudin in a supporting role. The movie was made independently by Leonberg and Kari Fischer and filmed in upstate New York. At just 72 minutes, it’s a short but intense experience for viewers.
The film has been a hit with critics. On Rotten Tomatoes, it currently has a 95% positive rating based on 20 reviews. In May 2025, Shudder acquired the rights to distribute Good Boy in the U.S., Canada, the U.K., Ireland, Australia, and New Zealand.
With its unique perspective, emotional story, and standout performance from Indy, this movie is shaping up to be one of the most memorable dog-centered films in recent years.
