[Watch] New Trailer for ‘Bone Lake’Shows Vacation Descending Into Bloody Horror

The new trailer for Bone Lake, a 2024 horror thriller, has just dropped, giving fans a first look at the chilling story and intense visuals.

Directed by Mercedes Bryce Morgan and written by Joshua Friedlander, the film stars Maddie Hasson, Alex Roe, Andra Nechita, and Marco Pigossi. According to reports, the film had its world premiere at Fantastic Fest on September 21, 2024, and is set for a U.S. release on October 3, 2025.

Bone Lake follows Sage and Diego, a couple on a romantic getaway to a remote location called Bone Lake.

Their retreat quickly goes off the rails when they end up sharing a mansion with a mysterious couple, Will and Cin. “As tensions escalate, the retreat devolves into a web of deception, desire, and manipulation, gradually revealing long-buried secrets,” the premise explains.

Maddie Hasson plays Sage, Marco Pigossi is Diego, Alex Roe takes on the role of Will, and Andra Nechita portrays Cin. Other cast members include Eliane Reis as Angie and Clayton Spencer as Brett.

The film was produced by Mickey Liddell, Pete Shilaimon, and Jacob Yakob for LD Entertainment, with Joshua Friedlander and Jason Blumenfeld also on board as producers. Filming took just 18 days, with Nick Matthews, known for Saw X, serving as director of photography.

Matthews said he drew inspiration from A Clockwork Orange, Evil Dead II, and Funny Games for the film’s camera work. The score was created by Roque Baños and Ben Cherney, adding to the suspenseful atmosphere.

Bone Lake has already started to make a splash on the festival circuit. The movie premiered at Fantastic Fest in 2024 and later had its U.K. premiere at FrightFest on August 24, 2025. Bleecker Street picked up the U.S. distribution rights, while Signature Entertainment handled U.K. and Irish distribution, according to sources.

Early reactions to the film have been positive. Rotten Tomatoes reports that 95% of 20 critics gave favorable reviews. The film also earned the bronze Audience Award at the 2024 Brooklyn Horror Film Festival.

With the new trailer now released, audiences can get a closer look at the suspense, twists, and intense horror elements that Bone Lake promises. The film is set to hit theaters across the United States on October 3, 2025.
