[Watch] Superman’s Biggest Fight Scene Has Been Released & It Perfectly Explains Why Mr. Terrific Stole The Show
James Gunn recently released one of the coolest fight scenes from his new DCU movie, Superman, to celebrate the film’s digital release. The scene puts Edi Gathegi’s Mr. Terrific front and center as he takes on Lex Luthor’s henchmen in a military outpost.
In the sequence, Rachel Brosnahan’s Lois Lane and Mr. Terrific enter the outpost. Gathegi’s character quickly forms a protective shield around Lois and walks straight into a storm of bullets, all while the song 5 Years Time plays. It’s an exciting and fun moment, even outside the context of the film, and fans are already talking about it online.

Superman hit theaters in the U.S. last month. The movie was written and directed by James Gunn and produced by DC Studios and Warner Bros. Pictures. David Corenswet stars as Superman, Rachel Brosnahan plays Lois Lane, and Nicholas Hoult takes on the role of Lex Luthor.
The film has sparked interest in possible future DC Universe projects. According to a Wall Street Journal article, Gunn is considering two spin-off series linked to Superman. One could focus on Mister Terrific, played by Gathegi, while the other would follow Jimmy Olsen, played by Skyler Gisondo.
Gathegi spoke about his role in the DC Universe. He said he has a “multi-project deal” but doesn’t yet know the exact plans for his character. “What James is driving home is the idea that they’re never going to rush into production with scripts that aren’t ready, so even whatever they do have planned for my characters is irrelevant until the draft comes in and it’s shootable,” he said. “So I don’t count my chickens before they hatch. I want to be involved in this universe in a major way, and whether or not that comes to fruition is just a matter of time and faith and other people’s hard work.”
Fans also noticed that DC recently filed new trademarks for Mr. Terrific and Mister Miracle. These filings cover motion pictures, which suggests that new shows or movies could be coming. The Mister Miracle project isn’t surprising because Warner Bros. Animation and DC Studios are already developing an animated series. But the Mister Terrific trademark hints that a live-action show might be in the works.
It’s important to remember that a trademark doesn’t guarantee a show will happen. Gunn hasn’t officially confirmed a Mister Terrific series yet, and during a recent appearance on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, he didn’t comment on either the Mister Terrific or Jimmy Olsen projects.
For now, fans will have to wait and see if Mister Terrific gets his own show. With the trademark filings and Gathegi’s deal, though, it seems like a strong possibility for the future.
